DRC Copper-Cobalt Mine Digital Dispatch Cockpit

The project serves a large copper-cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with mining, beneficiation and smelting operations. Its wide area and separate specialist systems create a need for cross-area operational visibility and presentations for Chinese and international visitors. The platform combines site imagery, BIM models, production data, process views, video and equipment records in a 3D dispatch cockpit, with mobile production and laboratory data monitoring. It is in use at the dispatch center for duty operations, information queries, cross-area communication and Chinese-French presentations.

Project Overview

The project serves a large copper-cobalt mine in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with mining, beneficiation and smelting operations. Its wide area and separate specialist systems create a need for cross-area operational visibility and presentations for Chinese and international visitors. The platform combines site imagery, BIM models, production data, process views, video and equipment records in a 3D dispatch cockpit, with mobile production and laboratory data monitoring. It is in use at the dispatch center for duty operations, information queries, cross-area communication and Chinese-French presentations.

Four-layer architecture of the mining 3D dispatch system

The architecture comprises four layers: mine data resources, the Nebula 3D digital platform, business applications and multi-device presentation. Site imagery, BIM models, production control data, video and documents are connected through the platform to support site overviews, operating monitoring, process views, production queries and Chinese-French guided tours across large displays, PCs, mobile devices and 3D presentation terminals.

Project Highlights

Mine overview and operational monitoring

Navigate from the mine overview to production areas, series and equipment to query indicators, trends, video and drawings. Process views organize equipment, relationships and indicators for duty queries and production discussions.

Mobile production and laboratory monitoring

Production and dispatch staff can use phones and tablets to view laboratory data, query historical records by date and review trends on site or in meetings.

Chinese-French guided presentations

Preset routes, automated tours and Chinese-French narration support presentations tailored to visitors and duration. Switch from automatic playback to interactive area queries for on-site questions.
